SENATOR GYANG WELCOMES CHANGE OF ATTITUDE AND APPROACH TO TACKLING INSECURITY IN PLATEAU STATE.

Senator I. D. Gyang says the change of attitude and approach by the new Chief of Army Staff,  Maj. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja by direct visit and issuing a very clear and unambiguous command to officers and troops under “Operation Hakorin Damisa” to stamp out violent terror attacks on peace-loving communities in Mangu and other affected local governments of B/Ladi and Riyom, is not only welcome but heartwarming.

Senator Gyang appreciates the Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr Caleb Mutfwang for the high-level contacts and insistence that prompted this intervention. The Senator also welcome the decision of President Bola Tinubu who vowed to deploy all the capacity of the Nigerian state to secure citizens and in particular, referenced Plateau State and followed it up with a stern directive to the armed forces to that effect.

Senator Gyang urges the Chief of Army Staff to closely monitor the compliance of the troops to his command, to ensure that the siege on our communities is ended and peace is restored sustainably to Plateau State.
