SENATOR GYANG MOURNS GEN. ATTAHIRU, CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF AND TEN OTHERS.

Senator I. D. Gyang of Plateau North and Deputy Chairman Senate Committee on Defence is saddened by the Airforce Plane crash that claimed the live of the Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and ten other officers and men of the Nigerian Army and the Crew of Flight Officers and airmen of the Nigerian Air Force on Friday 21/05/21 at the Kaduna International Airport.

Senator Gyang salutes the gallantry, passion, commitment and professionalism which Gen Attahiru displayed and was known for while serving at several times in Peace Keeping operations of the UN, ECOMOG, Field Commander Operation Lafiya Dole in the fight against terror and insurgency in the North East, GOC, etc.

The Senator joins the nation and the Nigerian Military in mourning the dead of the COAS and the ten other officers and men who have joined the rank of our fallen heroes by paying the supreme price in love for country and service to fatherland.

The Senator strongly believes that their sacrifice will not go in vain until the fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and all threats to national security and safety of citizens are subdued and defeated.

Senator Gyang while praying for the repose of the souls of the fallen heroes also prays God to comfort their immediate families.
