Senator I. D. Gyang of Plateau North Senatorial District has sponsored the training 615 youths from 73 electoral wards in Six LGAs of Plateau North Senatorial District on post season farming and agro produce marketing skills.
Senator Gyang who is the Deputy Chairman Senate Committee on Defence while declaring the Training Session open on Saturday 6/11/21 in Jos said the training was to empower youths in the constituency with necessary skills to boost agriculture, maximize profit and benefit from farm produce and labor.
The senator who undertook the training in conjunction with Federal College of Horticulture Gombe, said that people of the zone were mostly agrarian and hence the need for the training.
Gyang said the future of Nigeria’s oil driven economy won’t last hence the need to project and prioritize agriculture for the much needed diversification for the inevitable post oil era.
The lawmaker called on participants to take advantage of the training to acquire requisite knowledge. He equally advise them to use the well packaged lecture papers for reference purposes to refresh the memory for necessary time to time application.
The PDP Chairman Plateau State Hon. Chris Hassan Represented by the Vice Chairman PDP Northern Zone Hon. Davou Mang applauded the positive impact and record performance of Senator Gyang as a credible representative of Plateau in the red chambers.
Member Representing Jos East/Jos South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos, four State House of Assembly Members from Plateau North, elders and Stakeholders all commended Senator Gyang’s good and able representation at the National Assembly.
The seed/trader money was presented to 615 empowered beneficiaries from the 73 electoral wards in the six LGAs of Plateau North Senatorial District. Senator Gyang hopes that the beneficiaries will put to use the knowledge acquired at the training.
