Senator Representing Plateau North in the National Assembly Sen. Istifanus Dung Gyang has noted with dismay and disbelief the assault on democracy in Plateau State by the unprecedented and very unpopular attempt to deny the PDP participation in the local government polls scheduled for 9th October 2021.

Senator Gyang says it is sad that those who are beneficiaries of democracy have turned round to put up a choreographic and contrived display of underhand tactics that is obviously visible even to the undiscerning.

The Lawmaker in a Press Statement signed and issued on Thursday in Jos by his Special Assistant on Media and Protocol Hon. Musa Ashoms said he believes that the Nigerian Judiciary will always rise to redeem itself from any disrepute that is brought upon it.

“It is with this belief that Iam hopeful that as the PDP proceeds on Appeal, that the Appeal Court will serve justice in this matter to save and preserve democracy on the Plateau.

Senator Gyang says the PDP as a law abiding Party will stand to defend democracy by all lawful means and will never cave in to anti democratic forces on the Plateau or anywhere in this country.
