Senator Gyang Nyam Pwajok, representing Plateau North constituency at the National Assembly, has asked the nation on Thursday to offer prayers for the critically wounded victims of the recent series of Bomb blasts in Jos. He made the plea on Thursday 29th May 2014, whilst visiting the victims at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH and Plateau Specialist hospital.

Speaking through his Senior Legislative assistant, Hon. Abe Aku, Pwajok said. “We all have to keep the victims in our thoughts and prayers and also keep praying for lasting peace in our dear state and nation at large.”

Describing the incident as unfortunate, Pwajok wondered why innocent Nigerians who are struggling to make a living out of the economic challenges facing the nation should become cheap targets of terror attacks and other merchants of violence.

Abe who led a team of other aides and staff of Senator Pwajok constituency office, expressed sadness that such calamity should befall the state at this time that peace was gradually returning, saying the Senator was sad and strongly condemned the act.
“For the bomb blast which occurred in our constituency, our distinguish senator join millions of Nigerians to condemn these unruly acts. At this moment, our hearts go out to those who lost their loved ones. We know that they must be in serious pains; what happened was rather unfortunate and we can only say that this is one killing too many”, He said.

He also credited security operatives and other agencies for the rescue procedures adopted immediately after the blast, for helping in rushing the victims to various hospitals.
He commended the doctors and hospital staff for doing a wonderful job taking care of the victims

Responding to the Senator’s remark , a senior nursing officer, Mrs. Josephine Bulus thanked the team for the visit and observed that their kind words and morale support would help re-assure the victims that Nigerians had not abandoned them in their hour of need.

The team presented beverages and toiletries to the victims.
