Senator Representing Plateau North Senatorial District Sen. Istifanus Dung Gyang has on Sunday condemn the gruesome murder of Ms Deborah Yakubu a 200 Level home economics student at the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto for allegedly committing a blasphemy.
He called for Justice for Deborah and urged Christians to remain steadfast.
Sen. Gyang stated this on Sunday 15th May, 2022 at the COCIN Church Nassarawa Gwong Jos golden Jubilee Celebrations @50.
The lawmaker however called on the federal government and Northern Governors forum to bring justice to the killers of Deborah Yakubu a christian student who was killed in Sokoto.
Senator Gyang says “Christians all over Nigeria are facing persecution but the government are keeping mute but we will never turned back on our faith, we shall remain steadfast and faithful to God.”
He commended the COCIN Members of Nasawa Gwong for their steadfastness and courage in living firm and faithful despite the challenges they have faced
The Guest Preacher and also the Immediate Past COCIN President Rev. Professor Datiri Dachollom urged christians to persist and be diligent in service to God Almighty and continue to enjoy God’s faithfulness in all their lives endeavours.
Datiri also called on christians all over the world to always reflect the character of Jesus christ and be peace loving people.
Earlier in the welcome address the leading Pastor of the church, Rev. Cletus D Gwam express happiness with all those you attend the church to celebrate with God’s faithfulness with the church.
He added that as the church celebrates it 50th anniversary, he pray for Christians to grow in faith and service to God who is the author and finisher of Christian faith.
Rev. Cletus also appreciated the guest Preacher for the wake-up called for christians to be committed and diligent in service to God.
An Elder of the Church Mrs Jennifer Yerima said the church was established since 1972 and has gone through so many challenges but urged members to continue to stand firm.
“I must re-emphasize that it is a great privilege an honour for me to representing the entire central Planning committee to stand and read a brief history of the tremendous legacies and achievements of this unique congregation which are joyfully marking it’s 50th anniversary celebrations today.
“To God be the glory, We must also appreciate all the men of God who worked and contributed to our successful journey right from the start to where we have found ourselves as a church today”.
