News available to ViewPointNigeria indicates that the Plateau State House of assembly has alleged that there are secret employment activities ongoing in the state’s Civil Service.
This allegation was made by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi when the Head of Civil Service, Mr Izam Azi led senior officers to defend the 2017 budget before the House Committee on appropriation.
Hon. Gagdi demanded for an explanation to the rumor surrounding the secret employment activities going on in the state’s Civil Service.
In response, Mr Azi discredited the allegation, saying it was false. He said that there is an embargo which has been placed on employment in the state, and until that embargo is raised, no employments activities can be carried out.
ViewPointNigeria reports that Mr Azi, however said that there is a need for employment of new personnel in the state’s Civil Service as there is a shortage of personnel.
He said,” we have presented a proposal before the governor and soon we shall do something about recruitment in the ministries. It may not be 100% done, but critical sectors in dire need will be considered”.
