Sacked PDP PLHA members to resume parliament, despite court judgments against them.

In a daring position that defies the principles of justice, the 16 dismissed individuals of the People’s Democratic Party have proclaimed their intention to defy court rulings and recommence their parliamentary proceedings. This audacious act sheds light on their disregard for the authority of the judiciary and undermines the sanctity of the legal framework.

Nevertheless, the sixteen ousted members took the opportunity to address the press in Jos, the capital of Plateau state. They made it known, “We are here to apprise the general public that our compatriots, the esteemed 16 PDP members, shall resume their duties tomorrow and eagerly return to their constitutional responsibilities bestowed upon them by the electorate. You may be aware that during our recess, a court of appeal ruling declared that ‘one cannot build upon nothingness,’ asserting that the PDP in Plateau has no foundation. It was on this basis that the 16 PDP members were dismissed. However, whilst on recess, a higher court delivered its own verdict on the same matter, stating that the case presented before the appellate court lacked merit and, consequently, rendered the verdict of the court of appeal invalid,” the group explained.

Furthermore, the dismissed members referred to the APC members as “court of appeal Members” and vehemently declared that they shall not allow them to enter the House tomorrow, despite being sacked by the court.

“We possess unwavering confidence in our legitimate election, and our constituents are prepared to accompany us tomorrow for our legislative business. Even in the realm of law, it is stated that where there is harm, there is redress,” insisted the sixteen members.

The sixteen ejected members of the PHA also levelled accusations against the president of the court of appeal, alleging that the panel assigned to the plateau state case was “motivated by ill-intent,” thereby transforming the judicial process into a staged spectacle. The group contends that the APC members are “Monica Members,” implying that the president of the court of appeal influenced the judgment.

The PDP members also caution the Governor of Plateau State, Gov. Caleb Mutfwang, against accepting any APC members, as they have received information from reliable sources that other members desire to defect to the PDP in order to gain the governor’s support. “Stand firm against any attempt to act to the contrary, for we shall vehemently oppose it,” warned the sixteen members to the Executive Governor of Plateau state.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the APC in Plateau state, in a press statement, denounces the actions of the dismissed PDP members as “A CLEAR INSURRECTION & INVITATION TO ANARCHY.” The APC firmly maintains that “Our refusal to stoop low does not signify weakness; rather, we prioritize the best interests of our cherished state.”
