The incumbent Member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam (PKK) Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Ph.D., OON, has been officially screened and cleared by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest for a third term in the National Assembly.
Appearing before the party’s Screening Committee today, Sunday, May 10, 2026, Gagdi made history as the first aspirant from Plateau State to be cleared for a third-term bid in the current primary cycle. The screening was overseen by a distinguished committee led by Senator Uche Ekwunife Lilian, alongside Engr. Angela Obende and eight other eminent members.
In a statement released shortly after the exercise, Hon. Gagdi expressed his gratitude for the committee’s professionalism and emphasized the importance of legislative experience.
“I remain profoundly grateful to the people of PKK Federal Constituency for the confidence and unwavering support they have continued to repose in me,” Gagdi stated. “If elected for a third term, I shall remain committed to purposeful leadership and the advancement of our collective interests.”
The clearance comes as a definitive rebuttal to rumors circulating yesterday regarding a supposed “consensus list.” By successfully completing the screening process, Gagdi has signaled his readiness for a full democratic contest.
Moving immediately from administrative clearance to grassroots engagement, the lawmaker has released an intensive 3-Day Wards Tour schedule beginning tomorrow, Monday, May 11.Hon. Gagdi is expected to meet with constituents across nine locations on the first leg of his tour:
