In recent times, the profuse accumulation of indecorous stuff on this platform have made minds inclined toward the puritanical rather hesitant to follow up as far as politics in Plateau State is concerned. I nonetheless keep an eye for the real stuffs. I can unequivocally declare that the comments about Plateau South Senate election at hand, this was vintage, soul of the matter. I respect anyone who campaign for a candidate, we are all humans and respect is reciprocal. Perceptively, I think our people need to get the correct feelers on popular choice between the candidates. Vox populi.
Before I go on and reiterate why I campaign for Rt. Hon. Daika, let me first debunk some unfounded allegations that I am a member of a political party. I am not a card-carrying member of any registered political party in Nigeria, If I happened to be one then it’s still within my rights to freedom of association; hence, I don’t see why I should be castigated. My relationship with political candidates depends on some factors such as my personal interaction with them and how competent I believe they are to effectively deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
There would be no better example to pinpoint my logical reasons than the much hyped 2019 election. I will focus on Governorship, Senate and House of Representative candidates. I collated phone numbers of some candidates and chat with them on WhatsApp as to acquaint myself with what their blueprints are for Plateau state if elected. Some responded, some did not respond. (some might have got my text and simply ignore it, some might not have gotten it and could have responded, either way, I am not blaming anyone).
Here is the crux of the matter is this. For those who responded, we had pleasant conversation one way or the other. Albeit the straw that broke the camel’s back was when I got a text from some candidates like this…..’Please Call Me’ I didn’t know what to do but took a deep breath and responded…Sir/Ma I am so sorry I cannot make phone call because I am a Hard of Hearing (Deaf) could we use text communication like we are doing now please? Some candidates cut off communications completely. As a deaf person living in a society where we are despised in one way or the other when we are abundantly blessed by the Almighty God with so many talents. The deaf are not alone in this struggle, there are the Blind cluster, The Albino cluster, The Physically Challenged cluster and so on.
Out of the many candidates I encountered before the gubernatorial primary election, senate and house of representative elections. Only two candidates exhibited CLEAR understanding and willing to be more inclusive (they have blueprints to carry the people along including persons with disabilities). They are Rt. Hon. George Daika and Mr. Samuel DanAuta Kyarshik. I did not sough their permission to mention their names here, I am sure they will forgive me. These gentlemen won my trust and it did not matter to me which political affiliation they belongs. All I want to know from them is how they will treat persons with disabilities. Their willingness to go far and beyond to reach people like me tells so much about how competent and inclusiveness. The mantra is, when people value you, value them back and stand with them because such people are rare. Please give Rt. Hon. Daika and Mr. DanAuta Kyarshik a salute for me whenever you come across them.
Now that Rt. Hon. Daika is back in the race for Plateau South Senate, I am standing by him, campaign for him and let Plateau South know that Rt. Hon. Daika is polished and ready to bring dividends of democracy when elected.
Finally, I’ve a word for pondering from the immortal Shakespeare to the deciders on D-Day: There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves or lose our ventures.”
DEAR PLATEAU SOUTH, PLEASE VOTE RT. HON. DAIKA FOR PROGRESS,INNOVATION AND MOVING PLATEAU SOUTH FORWARD. LET’S JOIN HANDS AND MAKE IT HAPPEN.
PAX VOBISCUM.
