Member representing Barkin-Ladi/Riyom Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Simon Mwadkon on friday said that the All Progressive Congress APC office in Plateau has been taken over by weeds and rodents because the people of the state have rejected the party .

He made this known while speaking with some selected newsmen in Jos .

Mwadkon said for years nothing has been happening in the APC office in Jos ,” This is a clear signal that Plateau people of Plateau of the state are no longer with the party .”

The Federal lawmaker who further lamented the inability of the Plateau state Government from conducting Local government elections in 4 local government in the state described the act of appointing Management Committee Chairmen in this LGA’s as illegal .

He urged Plateau State governor Simon Lalong to conduct local government elections in the four local government area where the polls were not conducted .

The Plateau State Independent National Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) had conducted local government elections in 13 of the 17 LGAs in the state on October 10, 2018, but suspended the polls in Jos South, Jos North, Riyom and Barkin-Ladi, Berom ethnic enclaves, due to insecurity.

He said that further silence from government on the conduct of the elections in those local government areas has left them with the impression that the present administration has taken a deliberate decision to marginalise people in the affected areas based on the reason known to them.”

The Lawmaker also lamented the deplorable situation Internally Displaced Persons IDPs in his consistency are facing .

At the moment, the IDPs are passing through excruciating pain, anguish and sorrow in the makeshift camps where the aged women and children wail daily in hardship and hunger.

As i speak to you the IDPs are suffering ,none has been relocated to their ancestral homes as said by the APC Government in the state

He further said that no Police Mobile Squardron Unit has been
established in Gashish District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area where over 200 people were killed 2 years ago .
The APC government in Plateau has not done well in tackling the plights of IDPS in the state ,he added .
