Plateau Regeneration Group PRG ,on Monday hailed the Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Simon Lalong for approving the appointment of members of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry to investigate complaints of police brutality and related extra judicial killings in Plateau State with a view to delivering justice for all victims of the dissolved Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and other police units.
The group also called on end SARS protesters in the state to give the government enough time to implement their demands.
The group also appealed to citizens of the state to support the Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong for his efforts at developing Plateau at all times ,stressing that he has the interest of the citizens of the state at heart at all times .
They said the voices of Nigerian youths protesting police brutality have been heard by the government and the results will be achieved soon.
This was contained in a statement signed by Pam Datri the spokesman of the group and made available to newsmen in Jos .
Pam called on the protesters to give government the opportunity to serve Nigerians.
He said: “I commend the Nigerian youths for demonstrating that we are a united nation, and that what binds us together is deeper than what separate us.
The group further hailed Governor Lalong for his call for a wholistic reform of the entire policing architecture in the country ,further stressing that Governor Lalong had recently reiterated his deep support for the agitation of a wholistic reform of the policing architecture which has commenced with the scrapping of SARS and will continue to advocate for further reforms such as the rapid implementation of community policing for which he has been a strong advocate.
Lalong is determined to better than lives of citizens of the state and would always stand by his people , the Rescue Administration has proven that it is determined to deliver good governance and ensure that Plateau State remains a choice destination as the Home of Peace and Tourism in Nigeria’s journey to nationhood.
