With barely a week to the gubernatorial elections, a group under the aegis of Reformed Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State has urged members of the PDP and the citizenry in the State not to vote for PDP governorship candidate, Sen. Gyang Pwajok.

The group which comprises of aggrieved PDP elders and stakeholders stated their position in a press statement signed by its Chairman, Amb. Ibrahim Kasai and Dalyop Davou Choji, and made available to Journalists in Jos Saturday.

It reads, “As we prepare for the Governorship and State Assembly elections scheduled for the 11th, April, 2015, we urge our members to shine their eyes and say no to the candidature of GNS Pwajok, who is a product of nepotism, tribalism and imposition so as to resist any attempt to sacrifice the of our diversity on the cheap alter ego of any demagogue.

“The strength of our unity is in our diversity and we must use our votes to defend it. The group stressed.

The group commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his rare show of statesmanship in conceding defeat, long before the results were formally announced.

“Although we presume he is full of regrets over the dismal performance of several stakeholders of the party, especially the National Leadership and the Governors.

“For example, it’s now clear that the promised 2 million votes for the President by Governor Jang of Plateau State and his Jang organisation PDP, is a ruse! The statement further stressed.

The Reformed PDP congratulated General Muhammadu Buhari on his victory at the polls, but however, urged him to be magnanimous in victory and proceed with business of governance as a continuum, despite his slogan of Change.

The statement further commended the INEC National Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, for conducting credible polls, urging the commission to remain resolute and ensure that the Card Reader is used during the governorship and state assembly polls come April, 11th, 2015.
