RED CARD MOVEMENT TAKES THEREVOLT TO NORTH REGION AS IT LAUNCHES IN JOS, PLATEAU STATE
Building on the momentum of the Abuja ‘social media hits the street; launch on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, The Red Card Movement is set to make Jos agog, with a road show on Wednesday, May 2 and a rally on Thursday, May 3.
The take off point for the road show and venue for the rally is opposite WATER BOARD, Dogon karfe, Jos.
The Movement which is aimed at mobilizing citizens to united in rescuing Nigeria from bad governance and decadent leadership, as well as promote electoral due process against the 2019 general elections, will pave way for a visionary leadership of Character, Competence and Capacity.
RCM shall mobilize and encourage citizens in the North central zone who are eligible to vote, to join other patriotic citizens, to obtain their PVC, go out and vote and protect their votes on election day, as this will serve as automatic red card to bad representation in government.
Former official of the World Bank and civil rights activist, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili will lead members of RCM to Jos, for the big event. Ahead of the North central launch in Jos, Dr. Oby had said: “We have a mandate which is to mobilize an additional over 30million Nigerians to participate in the general elections come 2019. The office of the citizen has been activated and everyone has resumed office. We will go from door to door, cities to cities, and we will be heard. With our PVCs we will send off bad government.”
The Red Card Movement was formed to help citizens understand the essence of voting and their right to take part in political activities, especially elections and electoral processes.
Dr. Ezekwesili further stressed that a key goal of the Movement is to increase the level of women and youths participation in the electoral process from 15million to 62million, as well as target national legislative positions in a process that is devoid of inducement and coercion.
