The APC on Saturday during their Presidential rally in Jos received some politicians who claimed to have defected from the PDP in the state to the APC.

The defectors led by a former deputy governor who contested the governorship of the state under the Labour Party in 2011, Dame Pauline Tallen, claimed that they defected to the APC with their teeming supporters across the state.

However, Dabo, in a press statement issued to Newsmen on Sunday in Jos accused the APC of bringing together disgruntled forces that have worked against the party in the past and are working against the party to deceive Nigerians.

The defectors led by a former deputy governor who contested the governorship of the state under the Labour Party in 2011, Dame Pauline Tallen, claimed that they defected to the APC with their teeming supporters across the state.

However, Dabo, in a press statement issued to Newsmen on Sunday in Jos accused the APC of bringing together disgruntled forces that have worked against the party in the past and are working against the party to deceive Nigerians.

“Those who allegedly defected from the PDP to the APC at Jos Township stadium, yesterday were members of the PDP in the past, who left the party to other parties that are no longer existing in the state, and decided they want to return to the PDP. But we insisted they follow due process knowing they were coming with the plans of destabilizing the party.”

He described the action of Tallen and her cohorts as “an act of desperation and part of desperate machination of the APC to misinform the wise voting people of Plateau State.”

Dabo who described the “paraded defectors” as “renowned political prostitutes,” said the PDP is not threatened by their actions “As far as our party, PDP is concerned, the purported defection is of no consequence. We are bold to say this because these characters have long lost their reckoning in the political landscape in the state.”

Adding that “When last did any of them attend even ordinary ward meeting in their constituencies? Since they have contributed nothing to the party in the first place, their so -called defection is a mere fancy.”

Stressing that. “As far as we are concerned they have publicly gone back to where they belong.”

He said these were the fears they expressed before their purported acceptance by the national leadership of the party, “we were not against their returning but we knew they were not coming to add value to the party in the state but to desperately look for power and creat confusion.”

Dabo said, even though the party leadership at the state knew their motives they were ready to accept them but resolved that their defection should be done in accordance with the provision of the constitution of the party as laid down in chapter two, part one sub-section 2 to 11 of the constitution. “

He explained that the constitution stipulated that whoever wants to join or defect to the party should join at the ward level and must be issued with the party card duly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the ward.

He also noted that all these processes must be done within 30 days before the congress of the party, disclosing that all those paraded as defectors to APC did not follow the due process as such they cannot claim to be PDP members.
