News reaching ViewPointNigeria indicates that a boy referred to as Ikechukwu, a 17 years old house-help and secondary school student, was allegedly apprehended for attempted rape of a minor,  (a 7 year old girl) in Rukuba road area of Jos, in the early hours of yesterday, 17th April, 2016.

It was gathered that Ikechukwu, who was previously brought from the village earlier in the year, to serve as a house help in the house of his boss – was later enrolled at a secondary school around Rukuba road to further his education.

Ikechukwu hadn’t lived with the family for more than 2 months, before he attempted the heinous act on the innocent girl.

It was said that the fellow lured the girl into one of the rooms and attempted to force himself upon her, a situation which alerted her mom and other people in the house, because of the girl’s persistent cries and shouts.

Following the incident, the fellow was said to have been handed over to the police and was sent packing from his boss’s house. The young girl was equally taken to the hospital for medical tests to determine if she is OK.
