The future is female, this is the theme of discussion during the Progressive young women forum Plateau state Chapter on a one day capacity building for advocacy, networking and mentorship for equal gender inclusion in Politics and equity in governance at the Azi Nyako youth center Dadin kowa.

Speaking at the event, the Keynote Speaker General Manager, ITF Sir Joseph N Ari who was ably represented by Mrs Tola Are, Director Business training Department ITF Says he is delighted to speaks to Progressive Young women of plateau state.
He said ” skills is the currency of the 21st century and Women should know they are responsible for their progress politically.”

“Women should know that they are full of potentials that is needed all over the world, women need to stand up and works hard in other not to depend on the man for everything, doing so will continue to make young women not to gain their place in the political space, therefore I change you all young women to gain a skill, have a trade or go to school and take responsibility of yourself”

The DG promised that ITF will partner with the forum to see that the vision and mission of the forum is achieve.

Similarly the Deputy Speaker Plateau state House of Assembly, Rt. hon. Surv. Saleh Yipmong said women are those who suffered in politics with minimal rewards”
The deputy Speaker further said women are full of compassion.
That wives of Honorable members should be invited subsequently.
He said that the leadership of the forum should have time to discuss with the state Assembly and find a way to work together to empower women cut across the 17 local government of the state.

The Honorable commissioner charged women’s to be independent and not to rely on someone to survival.

Unveiling the skills officially, the Honorable commissioner for women affairs Hon. Rebecca Sambo thank the initiators of this forum saying this programme should be done all over the local government in Plateau state to elevate human from that perspective of just being a house wife and to contribute positively to society.
The honourable commissioner promised that all female Commissioners in this Government will team up to support the forum.
Earlier, in her welcoming speech the President, progressive Young women forum Plateau state Chapter Hon. Dr. Magdalene Naanyil Dakogol said, “I bring you greetings and goodwill from our national leaders Hon. Stella Okotete the National Woman Rep of the APC National Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Committee as well as Hon. Mrs. Seun Bosade Osamaye the national coordinator of this great forum whose leadership overtime remains evergreen, bold, inspiring and resourceful.”

” The PYWF stands strong and tall today courtesy of our collective efforts in giving meaning and direction to our noble objectives, dreams and aspirations.”

As a woman committed to sustainable development, women empowerment and social transformation, what gives me the greatest joy about this government is the fact that his excellency Governor Simon Bako Lalong is one of the few agents of change who is resolved in changing the narratives about women’s empowerment and involvement in politics as well as creating the conducive atmosphere for all of us to thrive and reach our full potential. Your Excellency, I make bold to say your achievements and legacies will continue to stand the test of time and Plateau State will reach its Eldorado. We are confident in your government and plead that more great things should be done for women and young girls to enable them address their challenges and contribute significantly to national development.
To all our special guests of honour, thank you for believing in us and expressing the unalloyed willingness and preparedness to invest in our collective future. We will never let you down. We will stand strong and defend the future of the girl-child and raise her dreams, hopes, aspirations and goals through words, thoughts and deeds so she can be a useful instrument of change and woman committed to making the world a better place.
The Progressive Young Women Forum was envisioned and birthed by Hon. Stella Okotete the National Woman Rep of the APC National Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Committee to among other things nurture young women’s political aspirations and empower young women in office to mentor and be mentored by women in politics, business and philanthropy.

Over the course of time, we’ve been engaged in series of activities at local, state and national levels through shared collaboration and practical vision. Our work has been directed and defined by the spirit of economic empowerment, political motivation and practical vision so that women who have not achieved their purpose and set their priorities will see reasons and take action so that their tomorrow will be better. We have achieved success stories on the one hand as well as challenges on the other hand but we are not deterred.
