Prof. Dakum Celebrates Hon. Burki’s Appointment, Executive Secretary, NCPD

Professor Patrick Sunday Dakum, an Apostle of Consolidation for Greater Plateau and Chief Executive Officer, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, IHVN, has felicitated with Hon. Ayuba Burki Gufwan, the Executive Director, Beautiful Gate, Jos, in Plateau State, on his new appointment as the Executive Secretary, National Commission of People with Disabilities under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, as announced by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a press statement dated August 7, 2024, and signed by Shabul Mazadu, Media Consultant to Prof. Patrick Dakum, Prof. Dakum, the Eze Chukwuemeka Indigbo of Jos, commended the appointment, saying it’s well deserved considering the capacity, antecedents, commitment, benevolence, and patriotism of Burki to the cause of the physically challenged.
Mazadu further maintained that, according to the Plateau State Labour Party, LP, governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections, Burki has meritoriously served the physically challenged in various ways and given them comfort, hope, and a sense of belonging without recourse to origin, tribe, religion, or any other consideration.
He recalled Gufwan’s goodwill in providing artificial limbs to victims of the 2010 bomb blasts in Gada Biu in Jos, boosting the agricultural sector of the School for the Deaf, and constructing some classrooms with VIP toilets for them too.
Furthermore, the former Commissioner of Health and Information added that Burki’s benevolence is not exclusive to the physically challenged, but communities too, as can be seen from the construction of boreholes and culverts to various societies in Plateau State.
Prof. Dakum eulogized the appointee for immensely contributing to the growth and stability of democracy both in Plateau and the country at large, and he has paid his dues to his party by faithfully serving it selflessly and with verity.
The Professor of Public Health, Maryland University, Baltimore, USA, has expressed optimism that Burki will elevate his agency, bring succor to the physically challenged, discharge his duty patriotically and professionally, and make Plateau State proud by being its good ambassador at the federal level, as that has been his trade mark in all his undertakings.
While admonishing Burki to maintain and increase his commitment and other virtues to his duties, Dakum wished him divine health, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding as he embarked on his new assignment to his fatherland.
