A team of delegation from the National Emergency Medical Services and Ambulance System (NEMSAS) led by Dr. Doubrah Emurem had on Monday 23rd October, 2023 visited the Plateau State Specialist Hospital Jos and was received by the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital, Professor Christopher Yilgwan alongside other departmental directors and staff of the hospital.
According to the leader of the team, the aim of the visit was for the installation of the National Integrated Emergency Software and the onboarding of Plateau State Specialist Hospital into the program.
Prof. Christopher Yilgwan later disclosed to Viewpoint Nigeria correspondent that the aim of the program is to have all medical emergencies under one roof as well as reduce the cost of care, mobility and mortality rate nationwide vis a vis the timely management of emergencies within 48 hours. He added that funds for the program will come from the basic health fund.
Yilgwan expressed his desire to continue to attract projects to the hospital as he is determined to place it on the world map of the best hospitals with global standards.
