Information available to us indicates that an NGO based in Jos, tagged the Premium Youth Network (PYN), has appealed to the just sworn-in Governor, Simon Bako Lalong to reconsider (as a matter of equity and justice) the case of the elected chairman of Lantang North LGA Chief Dan Dul, who was said to have won the past LG elections but was not installed as such.

While congratulating Lalong for his victory at the polls, Mr. Jesse Nanden Zwalda an activist and leader of PYN urged Lalong re-evaluate his campaign promises and fulfill them.

Speaking further, he stressed that since Gov. Lalong is a lawyer by trade, he should strengthen judicial and democratic institutions within the state,  in the spirit of good governance and accountability.

Chief Dan Dul had contested the local government polls under the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) and was alleged to have won but was not installed, even when a competent court ruled as such.

Chief Dan Dul of DPP polled 20,773 votes to defeat Nanmwa Kumzhi of the PDP with 18,145 votes, to emerge winner of the  February 25, 2014 LG elections in Langtang North LGA of Plateau State but was not recognized as Chairman and has been in and out of court for over a year.
