A PRESS STATEMENT BY THE COALITION OF APC PLATEAU NORTHERN YOUTHS.

PROTOCOL.

Sequel to Mr. President’s repeal of the TENURE ELONGATION of both National and State’s Executive Councils of the APC, We the COALITION OF APC PLATEAU NORTHERN YOUTHS wish to express our great delight over the reversible decision by Mr. President and the NEC, it really shows how committed Mr. President is to ensuring there’s sanctity, oneness and fairness in the party.
We wish to congratulate our humble Governor over his appointment as chairman technical committee in Abuja, with the sole responsibility of laying to rest all controversies surrounding the tenure elongation and the repeal.
We have confidence on His Exelency, Simon Bako Lalong and we’re confident that he would once more do the state proud as usual in this new task.
We wish to equally seek this opportunity to suggest to the Governor and the entire APC family on the need for an equitable zoning policy on the state’s Party leadership structure, we strongly recommend that the opportunity is right to make straight all grey areas in the Party.

It is a fact that only Governors, Deputies and the State Party Chairmen forms each state’s representatives in NEC of the party hence, we believe that it would do the Northern zone and the state at large more good if the position of the party Chairman in the forthcoming congress is zoned to the Northern zone; this would give the Northern zone more sense of belonging in the party, since the Deputy Governor and the Party Chairman are currently from the same zone and the Southern zone has a BOT member,but the Northern zone has a non working committee member which contravains the gentle man arrangement the Plateau man is known for.

We the peace loving and loyal APC family of the northern zone are in no way suggesting a face off with the current leadership of the party but we strongly believe that a consideration to our request will go along way in building more confidence and trust in the party structure within and even ouside the zone.

We wish to in the same spirit congratulate the State Party chairman, Chief. Latep Dabang over his recent appointment as a federal Board Chairman, we assure him of the zone’s support and prayers as he carries out this national prestigious assignment.

Finally, we wish to appreciate the solidarity and gallantry of all APC members in the state for keeping all hopes alive and standing by the party even in difficult times, we plead that same spirit be maintained even as we warm up for another general elections that is around the corner. We plead with all aggrieved members of party to always seek mature means of conflict resolution rather than attacking personalities and promoting divisions amongst all.
