We are constrained to make this statement in order to correct the half truths, blatant lies and misleading information being peddled by Amb. Fidelis Tapgun, who lost out in the recently concluded PDP Primaries in the State.
We are appalled that Fidelis Tapgun, who managed to score just 1 vote at the primaries, has continued to call the process which led the emergence of a PDP candidate, as one fraught with irregularities. We are not unaware of the fact that the former governor whom, we sometimes wonder what he forgot at the Government House, has thrown all necessary caution to the wind and continues on this journey of dividing plateau people along ethnic, tribal and zonal lines.

He was very vocal at a time when the State PDP did not recognise him as one of its members and even after getting a waiver from the National Headquarters of the PDP to contest in the primaries, it is unfortunate that he only polled one vote after being disappointed by the delegates’ refusal to stage a walkout with him.
Now we know the people who have Plateau at heart and it is our candid submission that Ambassador Tapgun does not fit into the mould of such people. Even the Deputy Governor and Sen. Victor Lar who scored tangible votes are not disturbing the polity with comments capable of inciting the people like Tapgun.
If Tapgun was an elder statesman as he has always claimed, he should be in the forefront of those pushing for a generational shift and not engaging in acts capable of diminishing the respect he enjoys both as an elder and a former governor of the State.
For us, the candidature of Sen. GNS Pwajok represents a generational shift and the 2015 election is not just about the elections but about our future which we are not ready to sacrifice for the selfish ambitions of people who have do not mean well for our state.
We therefore call on Tapgun and all those who contested in the PDP governorship primary elections in Plateau State to toe the path of honour and support the candidature of Sen. GNS Pwajok who we believe is not only motivated and competent but ready to take Plateau State to the next level
Signed
Hon. Leo Sage Demsak
