Nowadays in Plateau, almost everything is geared towards defining the politics of 2015. Recently, several debates and counter debates have been held by different individuals on the key question of what zone should produce the next Governor. Given that the northern senatorial zone has had its two terms through Gov. Jonah Jang.
It is in this light that during a mini Get-Together organized by Chief Joe Bitrus Musa at his Rantya Residence, he and his political associates contended that power must shift from the Northern zone to the Southern zone in respect of the unwritten gentleman agreement, whch has always defined Plateau politics.

Their position is in response to widespread suspicions that several stakeholders from the Northern zone are working behind the scenes to thwart the agreement, contending that the rotation can restart from the North down to the South. Joe Musa argued that the power rotation must go its full cycle as opposed to being turned over its head. He said “I am not scared of telling the truth about what needs to be done. But I am working fearlessly to make sure the right thing is done -and that is that: the power rotation must continue in a clockwise direction and not be thwarted by individual interest of a few power loving people.
It would be recalled that Chief Joe Bitrus was a one time Governorship Aspirant in Plateau state during the 2011, but later dropped out ahead of the party primaries.
