The Plateau Government has warned contractors handling various projects in the state against executing sub-standard projects.

Mr Samuel Galadima, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, gave the warning while meeting with some contractors on Friday in Jos.

Galadima also called on them to execute contracts awarded to them within the specifications.

He said the meeting was to intimate the contractors with government’s expectations from them, especially in delivering on its mandate of providing infrastructure development to the people.

”This administration is determined to meet up with the yearnings and aspirations of the people, most especially in providing infrastructure development.

”We will work with contractors who will be willing and able to corporate with us for the overall development of Plateau.

”Therefore, you must be up and doing in meeting up with the expectations of government,” he said.

The commissioner urged the contractors to be professional in the execution of their respective projects, stressing that the state government would ensure that only contractors with high professional skills would be awarded contracts.

He assured that government would ensure timely payment for contracts executed and within specifications, but warned that it would not tolerate ”truancy”.

Responding on behalf of the contractors, Jonathan Philemon of the Sheldex Construction Ltd., assured that they would live up to the expectations of the state government in the execution of their contracts.
