Plateau state government on Monday described as unfortunate the news making the rounds in some social media misleading the general public as to the reason for the State Visit of President  Muhammadu Buhari to the Netherlands and the delegation accompanying him which includes the Executive Governors of Plateau state Gov Simon Lalong  and that of  Ondo State.

The statement signed by Emmanuel Nanle the Director of Press and Public Affairs to Gov Lalong made available to newsmen in Jos reads that  “It is regrettable and unfortunate that a Social media Mischievous report   not accredited to any known or credible

source is making the rounds and targeted at misleading the general public as to the reason for the State Visit of Mr President to the Netherlands and the delegation accompanying him which includes the Executive Governors of Plateau and Ondo States.

 “For the Records  a press statement by the Special Adviser Media  to the President, Mr Femi Adesina which was issued a week ahead of the President’s visit stated unambiguously  that the President will be delivering the key note address at 20th Anniversary of the International Court of justice and Criminal court at the Hague and that he would also be having a meeting with the Dutch Government and the Chief Executive Officers of Dutch Companies to explore areas of investment partnership  and Expansion in the Nigerian Economy.  “

The Governor of plateau state on the other hand is on the Agricultural Transformation  Research, Training and investment Team of the President’s delegation which is led by the Hon Minister for Agriculture, chief Audi Ogbe and the team has already undertaken a study of the University of Wageningen Green House and Plant Research Institute.

” To the advantage of the country  all the partnership opportunities and areas of investment and training need have clearly being identified and would be explored further by the Federal and State Government delegation on the Team.”
