Clinton Garuba, aide to Senator Jonah Jang has responded to Plateau State Government’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Samuel Emmanuel Nanle’s press release last week, berating Senator Jang and telling him to expect more probes.

In a short press statement, Clinton Garuba re-iterated that the Plateau State Government was bereft of ideas and that it was simply chasing shadows. He said the APC government remains ill prepared for governance and that it continues to behave as though it is still in opposition.

Speaking on the ongoing probes of Senator Jang, Clinton said since May 2015, the administration of Barr. Lalong has instigated and instituted several probes, but that these have failed to returned nothing meaningful because of the forth-rightness of his principal and therefore concluded by saying the government can continue with the fruitless probes if it wants.

It is rather unfortunate that the Lalong government has continued on the path of misleading the people with outrageous verbosity filled with nothingness but clear contraptions to disparage and discredit Sen. Jonah David Jang.

The truth remains that the APC government in Plateau State is bereft of ideas and has hidden under the guise of a baseless and needless concentration on the pursuit of frivolities rather than concentrating on governance and those things which make for the common good of the people.

Sen. Jang has continuously maintained that he is not afraid of any probes whatsoever and by whom so ever, which is why he honoured an invitation from the EFCC earlier. One wonders therefore where the Lalong administration, which has already appropriated the position of the agencies of government got the notion that Jang is afraid of any probes. How come with all the Committees the Lalong administration has constituted, no tangible outcome has come out of. The government has found a new way for rewarding sycophants and siphoning money by the constitution of unnecessary committees.

 Even the transition committee which was mandated to rubbish the Jang led administration only came up with some frivolous figures as being the debt status of the State Government. While it is easy for gullible supporters of the APC to swallow that, hook, line and sinker, rational thinking people are aware that the Debt Management Office (DMO) publishes the debt profile of all states and details on such information can be found.

Our candid advice is for the Simon Lalong administration to wake up to its responsibility as being in power and stop acting as if it is still in the opposition. It is however, not surprising because that is what you get from those who are ill prepared or never prepared to be in government, in other word, expect nothing from an accidental government. The goodwill of the plateau people must not be taken for granted. It obvious that Governor Lalong is not an escapist, how could he escape what is his baby or brainchild.

The Justice Niki Tobi Commission was constituted while he (Lalong), was the Speaker of the House of Assembly, it will be foolhardy for him to run from what he and his co-travelers had initiated. This only brings to the fore the long term plan of present governor and his ilk to mortgage the future of the plateau people which was hatched long before Sen. Jang became Governor of Plateau State.
