The Plateau State Government on Thursday signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU) with German-based firm, Tim Consultancy Limited, for the establishment of a 60-bed specialist hospital in Barkin-Ladi.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the hospital project is expected to cost 130 million U.S. dollars.
According to details of the agreement signed in Jos, the Plateau Government and the German firm would contribute 65 million dollars each for the execution of the project.
Further details indicated that the project would be executed in 20 months and be operated by the German firm for 20 years during which profit realized would be shared equally between the duo.

Speaking after signing the agreement, Dr Fom Dakwak, the Commissioner for Health in Plateau, said the initial handlers would be expected to train Plateau indigenes to run the facility after they had left.
He said the state government would provide the infrastructure required to commence work at the site and undertake the repair of the routes to the project.
Dakwak said that project would improve the quality of health services in the state.
In his remarks, Mr Alfredo Deiro, the Chief Executive Officer of the German firm, expressed the outfit’s commitment to the project and promised that quality would be the watchword.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Finance in the state, Mr Davou Mang, said the project, when completed, would generate income for the state.
Mang challenged successive governments to ensure that the project was completed to enable members of the public benefit from the lofty dream. (NAN)
