PLHA SPEAKER DISBURSE SCHOLARSHIP TO HIS CONSTITUENTS

Over one Hundred and thirty students benefited from two point five million naira scholarship courtesy the Speaker of the Plateau state House of Assembly, Right Honourable Joshua Izang Madaki, Madaki who represents Jos East constituency disburse the scholarship to his constituents and beyond, those from Toro, Tafawa Balewa and Mangu local governments areas were among the beneficiaries, they also came from various institutions of learning which includes Federal college of Education Panshin, College of Education Gindiri, University of Jos, Colleges of Health Panshin and Zawan, Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi,Baptist college of Theology Lamingo, NTA Television College, Federal school of Forestery,College of Nursing Vom etc, in his speech, the Right Honourable speaker said that he was the beneficiary of the scheme 13 Years ago,the scholarship in Izere land was initiated by Joseph Nyako of Blessed Memory when he was a manager with the then lion Bank, the first political office holder to initiate it was Late Dr. Hosea Iliya Azi when was elected as a member of the state house of Assembly, a one minute silent was observed in honour of the two hereos of the Izere nation, Hon. Madaki admonish the students to learn good moral virtues that will help them in future,they should conquer, try as much as possible to graduate with good grades and shun peer influence drug abuse and other negative attitudes that will distract their attention from studies, the lawmaker futher solicited for more community secondary schools in Izereland,there is need for a uniform scholarship that should be initiated by Agwom Izere for the political office holders and other well meaning Izere sons and daughters will contribute in order to uplift the standard of education. The speaker presented the scholarship to the first student, Blessing Atsen, an orphan, visually impaired student from University of Jos, she has been placed on Fifty thousand Naira scholarship by the speaker until she graduated, the first beneficiary of the fifty thousand naira annual scholarship by the speaker had already graduated from College of Health Panshin, one of the beneficiaries, Izang Jessica, a final year student of Mass communication with NTA college Jos. Express her gratitudes to the speaker, according to her, when writing her project, she will mention his name as one of those that aid her to complete her education, she appeal to other leaders to borrow a leaf from him. The occasion was attended by students their parents as well as Traditional Rulers, Agwom Izere, HRH, Reverend Dr. Isaac Azi Wakili was represented by Adagwom Emmanuel Ajik, Adagwom Jos Izere chiefdom, commended the speaker and said the gesture will go a long way to promote education in Izere Land, goodwill messages came from the Executive chairman of Jos East,local government council, the head of Civil service, Commissioner for Housing, APC chairman of Jos East LGA, the Afizere Cultural and Community Development Association (ACCDA),Afizere Youth Movement (AYM) among others.
