The Inter-Faith Mediation Centre based in Kaduna has called on youths within the northern zone of Plateau to shun violence during the 2015 general elections.

The event which was held at the Azi Nyako youth centre in Jos had in attendance over 100 youths from Jos North, Jos South, Barkin Ladi and Riyom.

The event which was held at the Azi Nyako youth centre in Jos had in attendance over 100 youths from Jos North, Jos South, Barkin Ladi and Riyom.

Pastor James Wuye and Imam Muhammad Ashafa who are co-directors of the mediation centre called on the youths to maintain the peace with tolerance towards people of different faiths, ethnic groups and political parties.

A statement issued stated that “As the 2015 general elections approach, we need to caution the youths who have been the foot soldiers for political thuggery, rigging and intimidation not to allow themselves to be used for violence. We are also guiding them against the politicisation of religion and religionisation of the political process”.
