The Governor-Elect of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang has assured Plateau youths that the his administration will do everything within its power to make sure that the experiences of the Last 8 years to not occur again under his watch.
Mutfwang made this disclosure when he received the Directorate of Your Mobilization of the Atiku-Mutfwang Campaign Council ably led by the Leader, Hon Hitler Joshua Pwajok at the Jonah David Jang Lodge at the Government Lodge, Old Government House Jos on Tuesday 11th April 2023.
Mutfwang in how own words assured the youths that “Plateau
will not revert to what has happened in the last 8 years”, adding that he and his team intend to “…lay a solid foundation, not to lay a solid foundation but to also begin to build on it, so that those coming after us will have something to build upon…”.
While make his remark, Hon Hitler Joshua Pwajok, Director General of the Atiku-Mutfwang Youth Campaign Council had re-echoed the desire of Plateau youths to be active participants in the incoming administration of Barrister Caleb Mutfwang.
Hon Hitler led Directors of the Youth Directorate as well as Zonal and Local Government Coordinators to the congratulatory visit. In addition, Hon Hitler also told that Governor-Elect that the youths of Plateau are expecting to constitute over 40% of those who will serve under his administration, when himself and his Deputy Mrs Josephine Piyo are sworn-in on May 29th 2023.
While responding the Governor-Elect said that the Youth Directorate and indeed thousands of Plateau Youths have done Plateau proud. He added that thousands of youths from every nook and cranny of Plateau State mobilized not only to vote, but they protected the votes against rigging and manipulations.
In his own words “You didn’t to this for Caleb Mutfwang, you did it for Plateau People. You fought for your fathers, your fought for your mothers, you fought for your sisters, you fought for your brothers. You fought for children, you fought for even the ones yet unborn.”
He added that this elections was not about voting for Caleb Mutfwang but was about “Rescuing the soul of Plateau, I am only privileged and honoured that I will be given the responsibility of holding it in trust”, stressing that he is not taking this responsibility in light terms.
According to Mutfwang, he is interested in genuine empowerment, particularly in teaching people how to fish because he believes that ultimately one must be able to sustain his or herself. He added that it will be the focus of his administration to empower young people.
