Plateau state commissioner of Water Resources, Alhaji Idi Waziri has said that the state would soon supply electricity to neighbouring Bauchi and Kaduna states.
He spoke to newsmen on Wednesday in Jos and stated that the state Government has spent more than N8 billion on water and rural electrification projects out of which N6 billion was paid to contractors handling the projects.
Idi said that the expansion of water pipeline within the state was at 78 per cent completion and called on residents of Jos to be patient with the irregular supply of water within the metropolis as it will soon be a thing of the past. He added that water vendors will go out of business whenever the expansion projects are completed.
The commissioner debunked the notion that contaminated water was supplied to residents of the state while saying that such allegations were baseless. He said that there was enough supply of chemicals in the state to be used for water treatment.
