The Plateau state Government on Thursday said it would partner with Plateau state Agriculture, Commerce, Industry, Minerals and Agriculture ( PLACCIMA ) to make the 2020 Jos trade fair a huge success.
Commissioner for information and communication in the state, Dan Manjang made this known when the President of PLACCIMA Elder Bulus Dareng and his team alongside the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Anista Marketing and Events, the organizers of the Jos trade fair, Bolcit Barshep paid him a courtesy call in his office.
According to reports, the the Jos trade fair is scheduled to hold on the 15th of October to 1st November 2020.
Manjang said that the Lalong led administration is committed to supporting the Jos trade fair as it opens doors for small and medium entrepreneurs to showcase their innovations and products; having gone through various processes of training and coaching by the Plateau Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (PLASMIDA).”
He said “We are determined to radically improve our revenue base to meet up with demands of providing basic services to our people.
“The Rescue Administration in the state is matching words with action in ensuring that business activities blossom so as to create wealth and prosperity for our citizens.
According to him, the state is a very viable investment hub in the agro allied industry. He added that the weather is conducive for the production of exotic fruits and vegetables.
Manjang noted the commitment of the Simon Lalong led Government to continually concentrate its efforts on areas where it had comparative advantage such as agriculture, solid minerals and Tourism. Adding that the APC led administration is committed to continue rebuilding peace on the Plateau.
“We have made progress in peace building on the Plateau. The trade fair will help to build an economy that will provide opportunities and support the entrepreneurial spirit of the Plateau man.
“The rescue administration is also working hard to remove all obstacles that are inimical to the economic growth and development such as insecurities, poor infrastructure. Manjang stated.
He commended PLACCIMA and Anista Marketing for their efforts in boosting bussiness in the state .
The Vice President of PLACCIMA Chief Simon Tangni, who represented the President stressed the commitment of Plateau Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture(PLACCIMA) to contribute their quota in boosting bussiness in the state.
He said that all COVID 19 laid down protocols would be obeyed at the trade fair.
He commended the Simon Lalong led adminstration for its untiring efforts at restoring peace and also for the administration’s fight to flatten the COVID 19 curve .
“The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Anista Marketing And Events, who are the organizers of the trade fair, Bolcit Barshep said that the 2020 edition with the THEME: “Trade Fairs: a Platform for Promoting MSME’s in a Challenging Economy” is apt in assisting small business to cope with the effect of the COVID 19 pandemic.
She assured that the organizers with the guidance of the COVID_19 pandemic team will ensure exhibitors and visitors shop in a safe environment.
“We will continue to contribute our quota in this challenging economic period, specifically in areas of engaging youths in Plateau state productively .”
Barshep further said she is optimistic that the forthcoming 2020 Jos trade fair would provide a good business platform for people of the state to showcase their products and also help to boost the economy of the state.
