Plateau state tertiary institution workers currently on strike have criticized the conformation of the committee set up by the State Government to look into areas of disagreements. The workers frowned at the appointment of the committee Chairman; Mr John Daduut whom they claim was part of the problem and so was not expected to be objective in handling the issues at stake.
The workers also disagreed with the unevenness of the committee which they claimed was mainly represented by Government while ignoring other stakeholders. Chairman of the Joint Unions of Plateau State Owned Tertiary Institutions, Comrade Victor Dawurung said that the one month period given to the committee by the State Government to submit its report should have been shortened as it was a matter of urgency. He stated that the Government should have taken steps that will resolve the issue immediately.

It will be recalled that ViewPointNigeria earlier reported of the impending strike by workers of tertiary institution employed by the State. The workers are making demands which include three months salaries owed them by the State Government. Plateau state Government in response set up a committee and abandoned the Collective Bargain Committee earlier instituted. The action angered the workers who see the step as foot dragging by the Government.
