The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) project coordinator in Plateau State, Mr Peter Gai, has said that projects worth N1.2 billion have been executed in six local government areas of the state. The coordinator was speaking during the distribution of motorcycles and digital cameras to MDGs local government desk officers.

Gai said the projects were executed under the 2013 Local Government Track Conditional Grant Scheme (CGS) intervention of the MDGs. He said the benefiting local government areas includes; Jos East, Jos south, Bokkos, Kanam, Quan’Pan and Langtang South.

Gai said the projects were executed under the 2013 Local Government Track Conditional Grant Scheme (CGS) intervention of the MDGs. He said the benefiting local government areas includes; Jos East, Jos south, Bokkos, Kanam, Quan’Pan and Langtang South.

He said “In this intervention alone, there are 67 classroom blocks comprising of two and three classrooms to be constructed, 13 Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and 15 VIP toilets. Suffice to mention that all these primary schools will be supplied with metal dual frame desks”.

The coordinator said that the Project Support Unit (PSU) has also awarded contracts for the supply of drugs, hospital equipment and reagents to most of the health centres.
