The Plateau State government has assured the people of the state that it’s working towards the creation of more districts, chiefdoms and villages in the state.

Deputy Governor of the state, Prof. Sonny Tyoden, disclosed this during the celebration of Golden Jubilee of Village Head of Ruff in Mangu local government area of the state on Saturday.

He assured that the state government has not abandoned his promise to create more Chiefdoms, Districts and Villages for the people of the state, while reiterating that, “the governor is a man of his words, and will do as promised to the citizens of the state,” adding that, “we have not abandoned the project of chiefdoms, districts and village creation; we are working on it, and very soon we shall prove our critics wrong.”

“It’s just a matter of time; when that time comes, I am sure the people of Ruff will celebrate the elevation of this village to a district,” he stated.

Speaking also, Mr Bulus Dabit, who is Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) in the state, recalled the history of the evolution of the “Mishkaham Ruff’’ (Village Head), saying that “it began in 1912; he is also an indigene of Ruff.”

He described the paramount ruler as a man of peace and progress, who successfully managed his community and family for the past 50 years.

According to him, the people of Ruff would continue to support the APC ruling government, stressing that their paramount ruler is so loyal to constituted authorities.

The occasion witnessed all sons and daughters within an outside the state, and it was a veritable platform for the mobilization of all people of Ruff decent to participate in the socio-economic development of their community wherever they are.
