News reaching ViewPointNigeria indicates that the Management Committee Chairman of Pankshin Local Government Area, Mr Stephen Jings, while launching a capacity building program for tomato production in Pankshin LGA, said that the 17 Local Governments in Plateau State are set to receive 184 tractors. This is in an effort to boost production in the State as part of the Fedral Government Tractorization scheme.

According to Jings, each of the 17 Local Govern­ment Councils will receive 12 each.

He said that the construction of the capacity building is a credible development as it will increase the revenue acquired from tomato production as well as boost the economy of the State.

He said, “This council paid its counterpart funding to the Fadama III running into several millions of Naira.’’

“Our desire is to see that Pankshin is hop of Toma­toes production so as to feed the State and Nigeria as a whole, ’’.

The State Coordinator of Fadama III additional funding project, Mr Gideon Damdam, seized the opportunity to commend the administration of the Rescue Team for its commitment to Agriculture and food production in the state.

Dandam disclosed that the World Bank would soon disburse over N21 million to tomatoes farmers in the State, aimed at helping them to boost their production.

The farmers showed appreciation to the state government for its concern towards the wellbeing of the farmers. They promised to use the knowledge they had acquired to improve on every front of their production capacity.
