Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkinladi, has trained seven different sets of civil servants numbering 2,000 on the management of the payroll of the state and local government councils at its Resource Development Centre, Jos.
The immediate past Director of the centre and current Deputy Rector, Elder James Julson, in an interaction with newsmen in his office, explained that each of the seven sets comprised about 350 participants who were trained in different professional disciplines of their career in the service.

The immediate past Director of the centre and current Deputy Rector, Elder James Julson, in an interaction with newsmen in his office, explained that each of the seven sets comprised about 350 participants who were trained in different professional disciplines of their career in the service.

According to him, the training programme, with the full mandate of the state government and management of the polytechnic, was in line with the policy framework of government with a view to improving the knowledge of civil servants for improved service delivery and their technical proficiency .

The deputy rector added that the training programme was a continuous exercise and that the resource centre, which was one of the most important training arms of the polytechnic is also involved in the academic training of mostly students who are indigenes of the state that do not have the required direct admission into its Diploma and higher Diploma programs.
