The police boss said that the command will train the union members on how to operate the devices stressing that the step will go a long way in curtailing bomb attacks. He added that the union must possess the security devices to guarantee the safety of people patronising the parks while emphasising that security was not purely the duty of government and security personnel.

He said “We also expect that every vehicle must be thoroughly checked before being admitted into parks, no one should be spared, including the members of the union. The activities of suicide bombers in the country should be a concern for all; they target everyone irrespective of religion or tribe. So we must join hands to rid the society of such elements.”

State Chairman of NURTW, Alhaji Abubakar Garba applauded the police commissioner for taking the right steps toward protecting passengers, traders and drivers at the motor parks in Jos and Bukuru metropolis. He pledged the union’s support and commitment towards acquiring the required gadgets and thanked the police boss for the offer to train the members.
