Plateau Pilgrims To Pay N1.4million each For 2018 Hajj

This year’s  intending  Muslim Pilgrims from Plateau State are to pay the sum of N1.47m, for the 2018 Hajj  exercise, Executive Secretary of the Pilgrims board,  Barrister Auwal Abdullahi, has said.

 

According to him, “ the 2018 Hajj  fare is less than the 2017, fare with more than N57,000, and the basic traveling allowance remains  $800 on a flat rate.“

 

“This year the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), has anmounced the Hajj  fare, and here in Plateau State,  intending pilgrims are to pay the flat  rate of N1,471,719.52 and will be given  $800, as their basic traveling allowances.” He said.

“Unlike last year’s fare where intending pilgrims paid, N1,529,036.80, which shows the reduction of more than N57,000,” he added.

 

He revealed that  sales of forms will close at the end of June, 2018 as directed by NAHCON, and also in line with agreement with Saudi Arabian authorities.

“The board is therefore,  calling on all intending pilgrims who have diposited part of the fare to complete and for those that are yet to pay, should come to make their payment before the month ends,” he said.

 

He noted that Governor Simon Lalong, is  concerned about   the affairs of the board, stressing that the Governor has ensured that a befitting accommodation was secured at Makkah.

 

“We  have secured a befiting, accommodation that is very close to the Holy Ka’aba, because the Governor is so concerned about the welfare of the state’s  pilgrims,” he said.

Barrister Abdullahi, said in line  with Governor Lalong’s rescue policy, the board is taking   many steps aimed at ensuring improved welafey of the pilgrims, “including the pilgrims feeding at the holy land.”
