As the battle for the gubernatorial seat in Plateau State continues to take shape ahead of the scheduled 29th, November, 2014, date, a group under the aegis of Plateau PDP Youth of Conscience has appealed to the party’s National Secretariat to dissolve the Ward Congresses held last Saturday in the State, conduct a fresh exercise and sanction the State organ of the party appropriately.

The group while briefing journalists in Jos, Friday {today}, through its Secretary, Pharmacist Mizim Haruna, said, “We urge the National Secretariat as a matter of necessity, to dissolve the State congresses and to have another congress conducted transparently be conducted under her
direct supervision.

“Having aligned our position with those of our elders and even in fairness with the facts contained in the petition signed by aspirants under the platform of the PDP and other interested stakeholders, also
state that there were no congresses conducted anywhere and the attempted conduct in Pankshin led to its cancellation.

“We are yet to know the outcome of the rescheduled congresses that held the following day. It stressed. It therefore, urged, “The National Secretariat should disband the committee that conducted the exercise and another committee of persons without any element of collusion be put in place.

The group further called on the party headquarters to, “Sanction the relevant State organ of the party for colluding and encouraging the flouting of our great party.

It called on INEC as an electoral umpire to take note of the threats to internal democracy in the State chapter of the party.

“We will stand against all who seek to use and destroy this platform that Plateau people so much cherish. We restate our absolute loyalty to the PDP and Plateau people. They assured.

The group went further, “The people of Plateau State are not for sale and money in politics serves only a cosmic value to their determination to stand for what is just, fair and equitable.
