The crisis rocking the People Democratic Party in Plateau State takes another dimension on Tuesday with the inauguration of the State executives loyal to the National Chairman of the Party Senator Modu Sheriff, while Senator Makarfi led faction described it as a step without platform.

Addressing party members shortly after the inauguration in Jos on Tuesday, the State Chairman Hon Gyang Badung said Sango led state executive was not properly elected and has since being dissolved by the National Chairman of the party following petition by aggrieved members of PDP from the state.

According to him, the National Chairman has forwarded a letter to the DSS, the Inspector General of Police and the State police Command to accord his group recognition and as well assist his state executive in the course of reorganizing the party in the state.

He charged Sango led state executive to vacate the state Secretariat with immediate effect adding that his faction had written the security agencies and Hon Sango led executives  to vacate the state Secretariat with the immediate effect.

“Sen Sheriff has declared me as the authentic state chairman of PDP in Plateau State. Hon Sango led executive is therefore advice to vacate the state secretariat with immediate effect. I will also advise him as our father to go home and rest. We have the blessing of all the National and State Assembly members from Plateau State including all the elders.”

Apparently reacting to the faction, the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr John Akans said the self acclaimed state chairman of the party Mr Badung was an impostor and lack the constitutional right to claim the leadership of the party in Plateau State.

According to him, the Badung did not contest for the position of the state chairman of the party during the state congress and it is ridiculous for him to wake up and proclaim himself as the state chairman of PDP in Plateau State adding that Badung and his co-travelers are just capitalizing on the crisis at the national level of the party to carry out illegal act.

“We are watching him, we have charged him to court, and he is not standing on any platform, by the time he is arrested along with his sponsors he will know the implication of his action.
