As the race towards 2015 general elections in Plateau State gathers momentum, there are strong indications that the ruling People’s Democratic Party in Plateau State has continued to sink into crisis over the ambitions of stakeholders in the party, especially over the governorship primary billed for this month.

The endorsement of Senator Gyang Pwajok by the governor and the anointing of the state deputy governor, Mr Ignatius Longjan by some prominent elders of the PDP in deviance to the governor’s position has polarised the party and further deepened the crisis of succession rocking the PDP.

The endorsement of the Senator representing Plateau North by the governor and the subsequent counter endorsement of the state deputy governor, Mr Ignatius Longjan by prominent elders of the PDP in contrast to the governor’s endorsement has polarised the party and further deepened the crisis of succession rocking the state.

ViewPointNigeria learnt that a group in support of the aspiration of the deputy governor over the weekend had petitioned the National Secretariat of the party alleging plan by party officials to install a particular aspirant by circumventing the process leading to the primary.

It was also alleged that there was a plot to come up with a consensus list so that there would be no need for any election to produce the delegate lists and called on the national leadership of the party to suspend the delegates congress in Plateau State and supervise the sales of the forms directly so as to allow free access of all stakeholders to the forms.
In a related development a group under the aegis of Youth Movement for Peaceful Transition in Plateau State has also raised the alarm over the alleged sale of delegates forms to some governorship aspirants in Plateau from the National Secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The group, in a statement signed by Chairman of the Group, Hon. Peter Dasat frowned on the attitudes of those individuals perpetrating such act and called on the National Chairman of the Party to checkmate such criminal act as it is capable of jeopardising the true mandate of the Party.

According to him “It has come to our notice that some governorship aspirants from Plateau State has secured delegates forms from the National Secretariat of the Party in Abuja and shared it to their loyalists to enable them emerge as delegates during the forth coming PDP primaries.

“We received this news with shock and we are calling on President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Chairman of the Party, Alh. Adamu Mua’azu to take proactive step to curtail the menace which is capable of unleashing havoc on innocent people during and after the delegate’s elections”

Hon. Dasat stressed that any individual or group of people identified from the National Secretariat of the PDP selling delegate forms to any governorship or any aspirant across the country should be sanction to serve as deterrent to others who engage themselves in to shoddy deals.

He called on the National Secretariat of the Party to recognise delegates that will emerge under the leadership of the Acting Chairman of PDP in Plateau, Hon. Raymond Dabo to ensure free, fair and credible election, devoid of religious and ethnic bias during
