ViewPointNigeria understands that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Plateau State has issued a warning to former chairman of the Party, Dr. Haruna Dabin to desist from acts of gross indiscipline.

The Party’s position was made known in a press release signed  by the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Hon John Akans and made available to Journalist in Jos yesterday.

The press statement drew attention to the fact that Dr Dabin was yet to account for over fifty four million Naira, which went missing from the party’s building account.

The statement read “at this point the PDP wishes to caution Dr. Haruna Dabin to desist from acts of indiscipline against the party, because it has come to our notice that Dabin went on a solidarity visit to the former national chairman Ali Modu Sherriff, even recognizing him as national chairman. Well, we wish to say it clearly that we are fully committed to the decision of the last national convention and not any new and illegal decisions”.

The statement pointed out that Dr Dabin was previously against the emergence of  Ali Modu Sheriff as chairman and therefore wonders why the sudden change of heart to visit him (Sheriff in Abuja).

“We are not surprise at Dr. Dabin’s conduct, considering his political desperation. How can a man who was once a chairman of our hallowed party allow himself to be dragged into such callous behaviour? Dr Dabin was the man who was leader from Plateau state, that organised the Abuja PDP in Port Harcourt, against the candidature of Ali Modu Sheriff – and now the same man has gone to try to parley the once rejected Ali Modu Sheriff, how ironic!”

The statement described Dabin as political desperate and caution Sheriff to be careful of him because of his over ambition and self centredness.

Making additional points, the statement read “to this effect the party will not relent to discipline any individual who is trying to bring the party into dis-repute. As individuals who feel they are above the law of the party will find themselves to blame, when drastic action is taken.

In closing, the statement said the party under the leadership of Hon. Damishi Sango has been putting efforts into uniting and reconciling party members. It said ” we are determined to unite all interests and rekindle the spirt of brotherhood in the PDP, we therefore call all aggrieved members to return home in the spirit of party building and sportsmanship.
