Barely four weeks to the general election, a Senatorial candidate under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Mrs Eunice Ayisa Sambo, vying for Plateau North Senatorial seat against Governor Jonah Jang, said she is not intimidated by his position as Governor of the State.

Sambo said, “I’m not intimidated by Jang’s position as Governor; he exercise his right to stand for office, when he did and that is exactly what I’m doing. So there is no question of intimidation there.

She stated this, Thursday, during a Media Forum organaized by the Correspondent Chapel of the NUJ in Jos the Plateau State Capital.

“When people stand for elections, there must be a winner and a loser, either way, I’m fine with it, it’s worth a try for me if I loose, hearing what people are saying now, there is no way we are going to loose the election.

She lamented that, “Governor Jang is using his office and our money to run his campaign, everytime we want to go on air, they charged us money we cannot afford to pay, but we are not intimidated by that.

“We are running this campaign with our own personal resources.

“So I’m not intimidated by him, he is my biggest campaigner, because of his record in office. Everywhere you go people talk about him; he has done people so much wrong.

Sambo who has worked as a social worker in the United Kingdom, also cleared the air about reports making rounds that her life is being threaten, “I have not had an incident, I’m not aware of any incident, there hasn’t been attack or any attempt on my life that I’m aware of. There hasn’t been any of such alleged attempts to break into my house or my office. So I don’t know where all these rumours are coming from.

“The issue about whether I have been approached by my opponent to step down for him have gone round alot and I want clearly say that I have not had an official representation from my opponent.

“And even if I’m approached, this position is not for sale. This position I’m vying for is not negotiable. Let the people decide who they want.

“At this time I also want to challenge INEC to make sure they deliver the mandate of the people.

The APC Senatorial hopeful lamented the polarization of citizens along religious lines, in Jos North LGA, assuring that if she is elected, she will ensure that such doesn’t exist.

She added that, “In fairness to governor Jang, he is not the soul architect of the unrest that has led to the polarization of citizens along religious divides, it has been ongoing since 2001.
