Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Plateau state chapter has disputed the claim by the State Government that it discovered about 6,000 ghost workers on its payroll after a verification exercise. The Chairman of the congress, Mr Jibrin Bancir while speaking in Jos the Plateau State Capital described the claim as untrue.

Bancir stated that the NLC swiftly made contacts with relevant agencies involved to verify the information when it heard about it but found out that there was nothing like that. The NLC Chairman challenged the State Government to publish the names of the said ghost workers if it wants the public to believe.

The Plateau State Commissioner for information Mr Yiljap Abraham had earlier said that a biometric verification exercise carried on the State civil service uncovered about 6,000 ghost workers who were on the State’s payroll.
