But in a swift reaction to the elections, Chairman of DPP in the state, Hon. Dauda Azi, whose party candidate was said to be leading in Langtang North Local government Area described PLASIEC action as “strange.”
Hon. Azi told journalists that it was curious that returning officer disappeared with the result of only one ward which could have given the party victory as, according to him, the party had already won in all the 17 wards which results had been declared by PLASIEC officials. He, however, expressed confidence that its candidate would emerge victorious when the rerun is conducted.
The PLASIEC chairman had announced a rerun for the Jat Ward of the council for next Monday after which the results of council would be announced.
