State Commissioner of Information and Commissioner Hon.Dan Manjang said the rescue Administration does not have an option but to complete the turn around of the State broadcast stations.
The Commissioner made the statement recently during the tour to the Dankang, Shendam and Mangun booster stations of PRTV, he commended the staffs of the Broadcast station for trying their best in keeping the transimitters runing which has enable the station to remain on air.
Manjang, explain further that government will focus on equipment and training of staffs he stress that if equipment are procured and there are no people to operate them then you have not done anything.He stated that as a government it must make it a delibrate policy to keep the facilities runing he enjoined his exellency the governor of Plateau State,to consider uplifting PRTV as one of the Lalong Legacy projects.
While taking the Commissioner round the facilities alongside the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Micheal Pam with the directors of the Ministry,Chief Engineer PRTV Yakubu Ashoms, explain that 60 percent signal of the Dankang T.V and F.M booster stations goes to other naighboring States because of the topographic nature of the State. He indicate further that the Shendam booster station is the oldest transimitter but has not been in use because of the obsolate nature of the transmiter,while the Mangun booster transmitter stands as back up to the Jos Station incase of breakdown.
Earlier, General Manager PRTV Jefta Jackden, express gratitude to God for given the State a Commissioner that is very intrested in seeing that transmittions are conducted 100 percent he empasize that the station require a transmitter in Shendam almost immediately so that Television services which had been truncated in the area for sometime will resumed.
Jackden explain that it will enable the people in the Southern zone to access what government is doing. He mentoioned the need for a Radio transmitter to be installed in Mangun station so as to make all her services complete.
