News reaching ViewPointNigeria confirms the death of Hon. Godfrey Dashe, the honourable member representing Qu’anpan South constituency in the recently constituted assembly.

His death was confirmed by the honourable speaker, Hon. Peter Azi when he spoke to the New Agency of Nigeria. Hon. Azi confirmed that Mr. Dashe died in the early hours of Tuesday 24^th August, after a very brief illness.

Dashe represented his constituency under the banner of the PDP and was the chairman, House Standing Committee on Tourism.

Speaking about his death, Hon. Azi the speaker, said “this is a monumental loss, not just to his family, his constituency or this assembly –but to the state in general”.

“I was informed of his ill health this week and I quickly made my way to the hospital to see him last night and he appeared to look well. To my greatest surprise, I got a call in the early hours of this morning to be told that he has died. His elderly counselling will be sorely missed”
