The Plateau State House of Assembly, has approved the accessibility of a N10 billion loan facility by the state Government from the Federal Government, as requested by the state governor, Simon Lalong.

In its resolution at the end of Tuesday’s proceedings, the House, having adopted the observations and recommendations of its standing committee on finance, which identified the projects for which the loan to be accessed from the Excess Crude Account (ECA), was targeted at.

Soon after the committee chairman, Honourable Amos Kumtul, presented the content of their report, the Speaker, Honourable Peter Azi, chaired the House committee of the whole for deliberations.

Consequently, they resolved that following the committee’s observations that the past governments collected facilities and tied it to the Internal Generated Revenue IGR), and used it in servicing the facilities, as well as the N5.3bn bailout used in paying workers’ salaries, there was therefore an urgent need to improve the state’s IGR.

The House further adopted and approved its finance committee recommendations that the; “Ten Billion Naira (10,000,000,000), be accessed by the Executive Governor of Plateau State,” to be used for completion of ongoing projects in the state.the different People of the state.
