While distributing the items, the state Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mrs Linda Barau said, “What we are doing today is geared toward empowering our farmers and making Plateau the hub of food production in Nigeria.”

“We all know that this present administration is keen on making agriculture a lucrative business, and so, we will do everything to better the lot of our farmers.’’

Mrs Barau also assured the farmers that the state will develop friendly policies that will favor the farmers and aid in boosting the agricultural sector.

Mr Luka Madaki, the Special Adviser to Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau on Agriculture and Rural Development, urged farmers to make judicious use of the inputs.

In a remark, Mr Joshua Bitrus, the Chairman, All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Plateau Chapter, while receiving the inputs, commended the state government for the gesture.

Bitrus said that initiative would go a long way to reduce the sufferings of farmers in the state
